COSMETIC DENTISTRY
This is the branch of dentistry focusing on the appearance of the mouth. We also ensure the overall dental health is maintained. The mouth's appearance can be altered to more closely match what the patient desires.
MATERIALS
• Past materials include gold, amalgam and other metals, some veneered with porcelain
• Now dental work can be made entirely of porcelain or composite materials
• The new materials more closely mimic the appearance of natural tooth structure
• New tooth coloured materials are bonded to the tooth surface with resin adhesives
TREATMENTS
Tooth whitening – application of a whitening gel to the surface of the teeth
Polar home tooth whitening kit - £190 (per jaw) - Zoom III - £625
Enamel shaping - removing parts of the tooth's outer enamel layer to improve the shape
Bonding - an enamel-like composite material is bonded to the tooth surface
Veneers - thin layers of porcelain bonded to the teeth to improve tooth shape and colour
